Ellen B. of The Happy Wonderer is offering this wonderful cookbook for the giveaway, A Return to Sunday Dinner by Russell Cronkhite. Enter to win from July 23rd to July 26th (Midnight PST). Winner announced on Friday July 27th!

The Cookbook is 9×10 and 224 pages. From the author;

“It is my hope that this book will help you think of Sunday dinner in your own life. It is a full-hearted celebration of our American culture-our deep religious heritage, our unique regional cuisine, and our time-honored traditions of hospitality, welcome, and ease.

The illustrations are beautiful.

Our family has recently started a more formal ’sit down’ Sunday meal where we cart out grandma’s china and silver. We are hoping to teach our children proper table manners and build stronger family memories. The boys pull out the chairs for the girls – napkins in laps,etc. It has been lots of fun to start that tradition and I’d love some new receipes to work with – enter me, too, please!

My great grandma started the tradition of Sunday dinner after church when my mom was a child. Here we are now, years later and we still all gather for Sunday dinner ~ although the numbers have dwindled. It doesn’t feel like Sunday if we don’t get together!

I would love this book. When my Grandmom Palermo was alive, Sunday was “family day” and everyone would be home for dinner.

I’ve always wanted this to be a part of my families traditions but we never were able to do so because of my son being in the military for 7 years, and my oldest being in college.

Well, now for the first time in nearly 10 years, all my kids (4 of them) are home (3 live with me, my oldest lives on her own) and every Sunday, we come together at our home and have dinner and talk and laugh — God is soooo awesome. He has granted me the desire of my heart – to have my family together again.

Count me in!!!
