Here’s my WFMW tip for Blogger users!
If your site only allows this in your comments section…(Username and Password with a Google Account)

Please switch it to this option…

If there’s a choice for “other” it makes it a lot easier for those of us who are not using “Blogger” to comment. Now I suppose there might be a good reason why you don’t use this option and in that case ignore this but if it’s easy to switch, I as a commenter would appreciate it… Thank you…
Now head on over to Rocks in My Dryer for better tips than this…
Oh, I so agree! I have written out comments before and then run up against this obstacle. And you know what? I do not have the time (nor the inclination) to sign up for more “accounts” simply to leave a comment. Even though I feel a twinge of guilt, because I know how much bloggers love comments, and I love to spread them around!
hmmm, I’m glad I have no idea of what you speak!
I second this emotion!!!
I think I fixed it… Still trying to figure this place out.
OK, I’m going to check and see how my comments are. I never knew there were options. My computer illiteracy is showing!
Amen, Amen, Amen!!!!
OK, there are 3 options for this.
Under settings>comments>Who can comment?
Only registered users
Anyone
Only members of this blog
Now, me, I let anyone comment. And that includes anonymous comments…
But not everyone wants to allow anonymous comments as some are nasty and that is why they have enabled the sign in form that you don’t like. (only registered users) If you don’t have either a Google or a Blogger account then you cannot leave a comment.
There isn’t a way to stop anon comments and still allow bloggers w/o a google/blogger account to comment….at least not one I’ve found.
That complaint would have to be taken up with Blogger itself….not those of us who use it.
sorry for the inconvienence…….
You crack me up!
This is a great tip!
I think mine is correct - if it’s not, please let me know!
Have a great second half of the week!
I’ve always had the allow “anyone” to comment option, and in 21 months of blogging, I’ve only had a handful of spam comments. I just delete them; it’s no big deal.
I agree, if you want comments, let “anyone” comment!
Interesting! Thanks for sharing. We bloggers LOVE comments.

Great tip! More comments are awesome.
I’m with you sister!

If you’re worried about spam or nasty comments, you can always also sign up to moderate the comments. Then you have to approve them before they show up on your website. That option is not for those with lots of comments and little time though!
I LOVE this tip. My primary blog is my wordpress blog but I have a blogger id and blog for this exact reason. On that blog, I simply direct people go my wordpress blog.
Great tip!
I had no idea. Thanks so much for teaching me. I already went and fixed it.
Yip, I let anyone comment.

Ok, I am not very savy…please come to my site and tell me if I need to change it….I use Blogger and I don’t want to make it hard to comment. Thanks!
Sorry, come here and tell me (I linked to an old post above)….Thanks!
Thanks for the tip! I love comments! I will go and check to make sure I have the Other option up!
Blessings!
I allow anonymous comments and reserve the right to delete them if there’s a problem (I haven’t had one yet!). I’m pretty much always on the computer (writing or using our online home school curriculum), and the comments come to my email, so I can catch the bad ones quickly if necessary.
WordPress also uses Akismet to nab obvious spam comments.
Works for me! =)
Amen! I opened a Blogger account just so I could comment on Blogger-only posts, with a note directing them to my main blog. But I’d rather just comment directly. I think the blogger-only accounts probably miss out on a lot of commenters who aren’t willing to do that.
I would suggest that those who, as Might Mom said, are afraid of nasty anonymous comments might just try it for a while and see what happens. If they start getting besieged by bad comments, they can always delete them or go back to Blogger-only comments.
Mandy mentioned that WordPress uses Askimet to nap spam, and it does a pretty good job. Is that available to folks with blogger as a plug-in?
Hail you! Agree…
I didn’t know! I’m checking mine right now. Thanks!
That’s funny, but you are so right because it’s so annoying especially to those who didn’t sign up with blogger.
It was especially bad when Rocks did her give-away, don’t you think?
I so agree with you!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hate Blogger. Everyone should just use WordPress - the world would be a better place, LOL!
Hey! Thanks for stopping by my blog and for double-checking my comment thingie, too!
