I took both these photos on our flight from Seattle to LA on New Year’s Day. We happened to fly right over our home and Dear’s workplace. It was great to see this from the air. The arrow in the first photo is pointing to our complex and the arrow in the 2nd photo is the building Dear works in at Amgen. You can see how close to the Pacific Ocean we are and how surrounded by agriculture we are. Amgen comprises many of those buildings you see in the second photo around the arrow.
very cool! you have a lovely place there.
Hi Ellen — I’ve got the coast from the ground today. I love those pictures from the plane. I generally take some when I go up. And I just got a little geography and chemical company education. Thanks.
Happy WW/WT!
..
Great shots – don’t think my camera could manage that.
Happy WW
Great shots! I bet it’s a lovely place to live. I’m quite a way from the sea (but the Thames is just a few miles south) but I love that I need only go a couple of miles and I’ can wander down country lanes. Happy WW
These are terrific shots! Thanks for the explanation behind them
Happy WW
It’s amazing how our chaotic world looks so orderly from that perspective. Thanks, Ellen!
That is scary looking. i have never flown before in my life and looking at these pics I can see why!!!!
Wow, cool. The houses are too small. Looks like a plan map.
So cool. I love aerial views.
Thanks for sharing the clear and sharp pictures. Most of the time, it was still dark when I’m on the plane. If you like travel, you may like my travel blog.
Oh yes, if you want my personal chicken recipe, I have posted it today. If you love it, please remember to thumbs up.

Marvelous to actually see where you live and your husband (is that Dear?) works…I’m never able to locate my house from the air!

First of all, great photos. Secondly, I can’t believe you located it. I couldn’t find my house from the air even if I tried.
Enjoy the rest of your week!
What a huge place where you live! There aren’t many tall buildings though. I live near the sea and greenery…. it’s breezy usually and air is fresh.
Happy WW!
Wow, what great photos. It’s quite a change from the small town in the country.

Doing your own air phtography of your own home, that is really a level apart!
WOW! Your flight must be flying low. Great pics too. I always take pictures of the land when I am travelling by flight too. Heheh

How cool to see where you live from a plane!
Thanks for coming by once again, Ellen! Next time I go to our ‘valley’ I will look for one of the family crossing pictures. I don’t think we have any but sure do need some.
..
It’s always amazing to look down from the plane’s window. I think Niagara Falls and Buffalo look awesome from the plane. Of course, those are the only cities I COULD really look down on from a plane, as I’ve not been to interested when we left Denver.
Yes, my plane flying is mainly between Buffalo-Niagara and Denver International (with 1 or 2 stops in between). Or I guess others just didn’t make as much of an impact as the Falls
Awesome shots, Ellen!
These are great plane shots, whenever I’ve taken some they’ve always been terrible.
The patch work effect always fascinates me too.
It’s great to see familiar places from the air, isn’t it? A whole new perspective.
I love the view out a plane window. Never have I remembered to have a camera with me, argh!
Happy WW
