No not destitute. Just a weird fashion statement. I walked behind these young men in Ventura, California and saw them get into their Volvo station wagon with 2 surfboards in the back it made me chuckle because it just didn’t all fit together visually….
these kids are surely still asleep when they get dressed each day. there’s the proof! otherwise, they just want to be remembered in a crowd. that’d they be, too.
maybe they were just warming up those feet before they hit the surf board or maybe they got an IM that the waves will stand for just 15 minutes so they grabbed something to wear from the laundry basket and hopped out of the house in slippers. LOL
This is the kind of place where i would like to be all the time, i love to walk and this is a perfect place for me to be. Happy WW! He’s thinking ahead Missing this house

The laundry pile look. Gotta love it. Slippers as outdoor footwear is big around here, too.
Too funny! I guess it only makes sense that slippers in the day would follow the pajama pants for daywear of a few years ago.
We see lots of them here in PP - backpackers away from home, away from mum and dad.
gahh!
Hi Ellen. Until I read your (first) comment I could have sworn those guys were in Austin, Texas. Wintertime of course for the headwarmers.
Happy WW/WT!
..
Someone call the fashion police!!! LOL
It seems to be the fashion of the young these days. We have lots of these in our streets, and many of them come from wealthy families.
That’s California all right. Hey they look pretty good compared to most. Have a great WW.
Was that in Oceanside? Haha, okay, all the So Cal beach areas look like that!
Now there’s two guys who need some fashion tips! Happy WW
lol … wouldn’t have thought they’d go surfing!
nice find! happy WW!
yup - laundry problem!
Well, at least they are comfortable. Ya think???
That’s a great picture. It’s either a laundry problem, like Mama Grizzly says, or a typical display of fashion challenged people…
Happy WW!
My post: “Dressed to kill” (It’ll be up in about 2 hours)
Bold fashion statement…lol. Happy WW. Great shot.

My WW entry is up too.
Ever notice how those “I don’t give a rat’s” looks are actually very carefully put together?
Happy WW.
And they probably think us older people are uncool & daggy. If cool means dressing like that then I’m proud to be uncool & daggy.
Just trying to make a statement, I think.
Have a great WW.
nice shot! happy ww

Still, the warmth… and colors of your photo are incredible. But, yeah, they’re comfortable!
Looks like they had nothing else to wear!
Great shot! Happy WW
They’re surfer dudes, they don’t care what they wear, they are just in pursuit of the next “totally awsome wave, Man!” ; )
They are in pursuit of the perfect wave

So, does this mean I can wear my pajamas as clothes now, because I would SO love that! At long last, to always be comforatable!
I bet their mothers could die. Hehe

But ellen, what with the hat? Isn’t it a winter hat to be worn in cold weather? Ha! Can’t beat the young kids these days. Gotta love ‘em!
not destitute, devoid….of any fashion sense.
Jennifer
As long as they are comfortable, I guess it’s alright.
I wasn’t able to join WW this week but if you have time, I’d like to share photos of our visit to Ocean Adventure. Take care.
