I’ve got a nesting Mama Robin in the tree outside my front door. I think she’s the same one who nested there two years ago. I’ve been talking to her this year and she allows me to get directly under the nest and doesn’t fly off and scold me this year. I think they are more used to people than we know!
I’m hoping she’ll let me get some great snaps once the eggs hatch (still saw eggs yesterday when I peaked).
By the way, dinner was great and a success last night. My guests loved the Stuffed Cabbage (& bacon, haha). The hummingbird cake was delicious too. It was a good thing I baked them in the morning. I used the miniature bundt cake pan for individual servings because I don’t have a regular sized bundt pan. The first batch turned out disastrous because the cakes didn’t come out in their entirety upon being flipped over. So, I slather more shortening on the sides the second time - they came out PERFECT! Thanks again for your recipes… they seem tried and tested and true!
Way to go, Robin! (That’s my twin’s name, so I just love this.) Also, my mom says a Robin sits outside her window and wakes her up every morning at 5am. Happy WW *heart cha*
What a wonderful photo. He/she is so puffed up and sweet and I love the layers of texture - the bark and then the green leaves and then the mountains behind. Just beautiful.
We have a pair of robins nesting in a tree across the street, and they are fat and fluffy just like this one! I should get out the telephoto lens and try to snap a photo
How very considerate of this ‘pleasingly plumbed’ Robin! I wish I had a better camera sometimes but I need a new computer first ;–
Today I’ve shared things I’ve learned in the 3rd session of my beginning Photoshop Elements class … at SacredRuminations and Small Reflections … so I hope you’ll drop by to see.
