Welcome to another week of Sky Watch from around the world.

Clear skies after the morning haze in Southern California this week. This top shot was actually taken in Clovis, California which is in the Central Valley of California.

This is a courtyard at the historical St. Mary Magdalene Church built in 1913 in Camarillo by the Camarillo Family. Juan Camarillo built the church in honor of his father, Don Juan Camarillo, and his mother, Martina Hernandez. It was named for Juan and Adolfo’s oldest sister, Magdalena.
The east courtyard foundation, which was modeled after one at the Santa Barbara mission, quickly became a popular bird bath and favorite gathering place for many of the parishioners after Sunday Mass.
I’ll be posting photos of the church and the doors at the church tomorrow for Opening Doors hosted by Jientje from Heaven in Belgium.

I like the way you used the flowers to lead us into the sky.

Ellen: A beutiful place to capture great Sky shots, nicely done.
You have a real way of taking shots in such an excellent composition.
Those are all great. I like the crepe myrtle (or I’m guessing that’s what the first shot is) against blue sky. I’ll look forward to the doors tomorrow.
These are both such pretty and colorful photos. Love the first one especially, with the bright flowers against the sky.
Your California skies, ellen, are indeed beautiful. And your photographs are too! Happy SWF!
Maybe I should go over there for the winter?

The sky makes such a lovely backdrop for foliage, doesn’t it? Mary Magdalene is one of my all-time favorite women in history. The church is beautiful.

What beautiful blue sky shot you were able to capture. Our Creator is such a color-conscience God — giving us glimpses of His beauty through His Creation.
