The Star…

Star of Bethlehem

Star of Bethlehem, shining bright,
Long ago by thy holy light
Sages met in praise to bring
Eastern gifts to their newborn King.

Star of Bethlehem, thou didst show
Wond’ring shepherds the way to go,
Thus revealing by thy ray
Where the infant Redeemer lay.

Star of Bethlehem, heav’nly guide,
Take us all to our Savior’s side,
There to kneel and there to bring
Loving hearts as our offering.

Words: Edna R. Worrell, 1914.

We got our star up on our shop/garage. I like having a star shining at Christmas time.

I was inspired to get a lit star on our shop/garage by Gumbo Lily’s Star on her barn here.

It’s hard to tell from this photo but the star is 2-1/2 stories up from the ground. I now have a plan for the window under the star and time will tell if it works.

Thank you all for your nice comments on Dear and my anniversary post. We both appreciate them. We had our small group over last night for our regular meeting. Tonight we’ll enjoy dinner out. Do you have a busy weekend coming up?

  1. Oh that star is giving me ideas! Oops. John just nixed them. Shoot! (He doesn’t want a hole in the new siding.) Well, it sure looks pretty there!

  2. That is so cool that it is up so high. I’ve always wanted to do a back lit silhouette of wise men traveling towards the star on the long side of our house facing the street. I love the lights of Christmas but I wanted something that speaks life and hope to people about the real meaning of Christmas. It will be fun to see what you come up with. Happy weekend!

  3. I love your star – it looks beautiful.

I forgot to comment yesterday and really meant to – blessings to you on your anniversary, and may you have many more to come. And what a gift, a blessing to your children, to have your marriage as an example for them, by God’s grace.

  4. Beautiful star and beautiful imagery. Lovely…I love how you are making your place your own home…where you can do the things you love.

  5. I do like that star shining out over the landscape, bringing light to a dark world. Very symbolic of that first Christmas when the Light of the World came to earth. Beautiful.

  6. Hooray for the Star! It looks great — especially with the snow falling here. I can’t wait to see what happens with the window.
