Leftovers!

I like leftovers, do you?

Speaking of leftovers here are the rest of the photos from our Elliott Bay Marina brunch at Palisade Restaurant.

Palisade is on the second level of this building with great views of Elliott Bay and part of downtown Seattle in the distance.

Our family all together. I’m going to have to get more creative in 2013 with group shots. I’ve seen a couple good ideas on Facebook.

See what I mean. I think the only thing that changed in this shot is the position of my hands. I do weird things with my hands in photos.

By now you are tired of us so look behind us and check out the Space Needle and downtown Seattle.

We positioned my nephew Caleb in this shot to make sure he didn’t block the view of the Space Needle!

My nephew Caleb and his girlfriend Marie. They both graduated from Westmont College in the Santa Barbara area this past May. She’s working on her teaching credential and he’s working at a church in Santa Barbara with the youth. It was fun to have them with us for brunch before they headed back to Santa Barbara. On the day Caleb was born our son Joshua hit a homerun in his honor at a little league game. Joshua and Caleb…that rings a bell. They have been strong and courageous!

Had to include a shot with the new shoes. Andrew and Katie still behave like newlyweds…

On the way home we got closer to the needle but we were driving fast so it’s a bit blurry.

Tonight our Newlyweds fly back to the east coast. My little nest will be empty again. I took down Christmas on New Year’s Day. I had to make room in the living room once again since our small group meetings start back up on Thursday. We had a real laid back New Year’s Day and ordered pizza in for dinner. The night ended with 4 of the kids playing Settlers of Catan. Dear and I hit the sack early as usual.

Hope 2013 is starting well for all of you!

  1. Happy New Year, Ellen! Your family photos are beautiful, and this looks like a fun day. Thank you so much for your prayers for our little grandson. I love reading your prayer for him in a comment on my blog, and as I read it, I say the prayer along with you. God bless you. laurie

  2. Looks like you had some wonderful family time. Love the Caleb-Joshua reference you made. May they always be strong and courageous! Christmas is mostly down here, still some areas to rearrange, and the needles to vacuum.

  3. How ever do you manage to get such great family shots?? My family is camera shy and I always get the “eye roll” and the “oh, Mom”!!! Sigh!
I love your left overs and thanks for sharing!

  4. I’ve been loving leftovers lately. First you cook up a storm…and then you take a holiday from cooking and have leftovers! Sounds (and looks) like you all had a wonderful time together. I like the Joshua/Caleb side-note!

  5. I think you got some great family shots….such a lovely family. I think my tall girls would be shaking their heads in wonder at the picture of your nephew and his petite girlfriend. They want to scold the petite girls for taking the TALL boys. lol So wonderful that the newlyweds could be with you all. All your family together is a wonderful gift for a momma’s heart.

  6. What a wonderful time you had – yes there are a lot of very tall fellow with short partners. It must mean that opposites attract. Your family pictures are perfect.

  7. I noticed that Katie had her arm through her husband’s arm in the first photo and thought “how sweet”. May they be newly weds in their minds forever!

  8. Such a nice post of speical times together. I emphasize with you today on family leaving again and the emptiness left behind. Since I’ve not had time to take down the tree it jsut got shoved over yesterday to make room for a birthday party.
