F is for Friends of the Library Bookstore!
Camarillo has a beautiful new library with a fabulous Friends of the Library Bookstore.
It is one of the bigger Friends of the Library stores that I’ve ever been in.
Their sections include hardbound fiction, paper back, Classics, Children’s, Travel, Food, Gardening, Craft, Poetry, Mystery, Science Fiction, Magazines, Large Print, etc.
Everything is reasonably priced. The majority of the books and magazines range from 25 cents to $2.99. Some of the more collectible books are priced higher.
These are some goodies I picked up yesterday.
I’ve purchased lots of books here that are in wonderful shape for a fraction of the price when brand new.
My favorite find this time around is this classic children’s book by Burgess that has a copyright date of 1910.

Photobucket is holding all my photos that I posted on my blog from 2007-2015 hostage and replaced them with big black and grey boxes with threats. So discouraging…as I’m slowly trying to clean up thousands of posts!
Lucky you to have such a thing near you! Enjoy it.
Shalom from Israel, land of the People of the Book. 🙂
If I’m ever down that way I’ll visit this store. Just think! I could get all my Christmas shopping done in one fell swoop (whatever that means)!
OH!! Is this where you found my calligraphy books? It’s wonderful!
(I am in and out of the Edward Johnston book every week! I LOVE it and don’t know what I did without it!)
This place looks like my kind of place.
If you poke about in my archive you will see something of our island life. We moved to the mainland five years ago after twelve years on the island.
Lucky you.
I really like the Burgess book.
Is it the one with great illustrations?
Thanks for the visit,
Troy and Martha
What a Fabulous Find! I wish we had something like that here! 😀
Fabulous photos and nice choice for the letter!
Those full shelves in the photos makes this library look like a real invitational place to visit. I love the Burgess animal stories, I have a whole bunch of them.
Lovely photos, Ellen! I like books and bought a lot of books again when I was in Australia..
Hi Ellen,
This looks like a great library and what a collection of finds. I love the animals on the cover of the last book.
I love our library I am into thrillers at the moment and can’t wait to get some new ones next week.
Thanks for contributing.

I am just downright jealous!! Wish I could go there with you.
But I found a great buy the other day at Value Village – a leather bound copy of Heidi with pictures by Eloise Wilkin – for $1.99!
Excellent idea for the f. It does look a wonderful place for us book lovers.
Great selection for ABC Wednesday. Friends of the Library is an awesome idea. Good luck.
A bookstore in a library. What a great idea.
What great finds!
I just adore books and libraries. Great F thanks for posting.
What a wonderful store to live near.
Oh wow… I’d be like a kid in a candy store! I love book stores like these … great post!
Oh, I wish we had a friends group.
I work at a library and we miss what they could do for us!
That is Fantastic that you have such a place.
But if that were near my house I am afraid I would be spending a lot of money there.
Bear((( )))
I love Friends of the Library in our town!
Oooohh, I love it! I want to come and buy too. What a fabulous idea.
Looks like a wonderful place – I love visiting our library with my daughter – each new find is an education for both of us.

A library is one of the most important parts of modern culture and society. Knowledge and education would be impossible. I have never understood why someone maintains that it “should pay for itself” directly.
It is an integral part of our infrastructure.
What a wonderful place. I can see myself spending hours in there! 😉 Great choice for ‘F’.. have a great day! 🙂
You certainly get a great set of books there… I like bookshops… and secondhand book stores just pull me in.
What a great bookstore. The UF library has a very good collection of older children’s books.
Hi, Ellen
Interesting the books are so cheap that bookstore, but because they would not be where is the Friend of the Bookstore.
hugs, Denise
Oh how I love libraries!!! Looks like a very cool place, this one!
Great post!
Kisses from Nydia.
THAT is your Friends of Library bookstore? That room looks almost like the ENTIRE rural library I go to sometimes not too far from me, hahaha!!! Amazing!!!
great post
You know I’m hooked when you bring in the books! We don’t have a Friends bookstore, only occasional book sales. How wonderful a store would be!
lovely. 🙂 and cozy looking as well.
