Do You Have Favorites?

So do you have favorites? Favoritism can have a negative connotation but not on Fridays. On Fridays we look back and think about all the good things we’ve experienced and try to narrow it down to 5. Visit Susanne at Living to Tell the Story to join in the fun.

1. On Saturday at dawn Dear and I returned to one of our favorite Saturday beach walks at Emma Wood State Beach in Ventura. It had been several months since we had been there.

2. When you live in a little condo there aren’t a lot of “projects” to do on the weekends so on Sunday after a wonderful service and message on “Waiting on the Lord” we headed to 2 little farm communities to see what we could see. We had lunch in Santa Paula at Smokin Joe’s and then spent a little time in Fillmore where we saw this great old church.

3. On Tuesday Willow and I returned to the Blueberry farm for a walk before the rains came. We huffed and puffed and then got to taste test a few different varieties of blueberries….yum.

4. On Wednesday I sat at home in the condo and enjoyed the sights and sounds of a steady rain.

5. Last but not least was a surprise in my mailbox this week. Remember Susanne had a FFF giveaway? I won and the package arrived this week. Thank you Susanne. There was a devotional book, note cards, 3 healthy candles, a Starbucks gift card, and a candy bar. Well there were 2 candy bars but I don’t know what happened to one of them before I was able to take this photograph…

but clearly it was enjoyed with only a few crumbs remaining…

Thanks again Susanne.

Photobucket is holding all my photos that I stored on their site from 2007-2015 hostage replacing them with ugly grey and black boxes and asking for a large ransom to retrieve them. It is a slow process to go through all my posts deleting the ugly boxes.

  1. Oh, what wonderful photos! I really love the beach pic and the adorable little church! I also love that one of your chocolate bars didn’t make it for the picture! (Both would have been missing here! shhh!)

  2. What a wonderful FFF the pictures are great. And that blueberry farm. I wanna go there. Congrats again on the giveaway. Have a great Friday 🙂

  3. I’ve been to Fillmore so many times and have never seen this church. Santa Paula used to be a destination spot for hubby and I…it has airport appeal ;-).

    xoxo Cori G.

  4. Amazing how those candy bars disappear. I don’t think I’ve ever heard of a healthy candle. Have a grand weekend…my hubby would probably LOVE your weekend life…for a bit.

  5. Oh how fun .. .and Canadian Chocolate to boot. ..awesome.
As I wait to feel sleepy here in the middle of the night. ..I am enjoying the sound of rain outside.. . I love it.

  6. Great faves, Ellen! Your photo of the ranch shows how large it is. I’ve never seen that little church in Fillmore. You find the most fascinating places.

    Have a great weekend!

  7. I love the picture of the quaint little church. Thanks for sharing!

Looks like you had a good week, and Susanne’s package was the icing on the cake …. er, the chocolate on the candy bar?

  8. You’re one happy wonderer indeed… even the quiet rain can give you joy. Thanks for the thoughts. And for something totally different, how about joining in the fun to create your own roller derby name? (Ruth’s 2nd comment on my ‘Whip It’ post) Have a wonderful weekend, Ellen!

  9. What a wonderful week you had! Lovely church. And blueberries are a great favorite here. A candy bar seems an appropriate happy ending. (We made fudge here, yesterday, and if I did Friday Faves, it would be at the top of the list! Chocolate is your friend. 🙂

  10. I can’t imagine living in a condo…Nothing to do? I’m selling our farm and running to buy one TODAY…I can’t imagine a life like that.
I love the blueberry farm walk, it reminds me of the Vedder Trail where Judy and I like to hang out…
I lost out on the give-away…I better stay posted.

  11. Ahhhh! YOU have had a wOnderful week! Look at the MOSS on those rocks! I LOVE that! And that little church is just sO pretty! Looks like someone has been serving the Lord by taking reallllllly good care of it!

I would LOVE to take a walk up that blueberry hill! (and pick a ton or two of blueberries too!)

I’ve been enjoying MY rainy days too…

I am curious about that “good for you” candy! What KIND is that? You know… I just can’t even IMAGINE what happened to that one candy bar! MUST have been gremlins!

    Have a great week!

  12. That looks like a wonderful package.

Your photos are so gorgeous. That church is so cute — if that’s an acceptable description of a church. 😀 I’d love to explore inside it.

  13. Love the church pic…how cool is that. And Susanne is awesome for giving out such a yummy giveaway!
Love the blueberry farm pics….wish I was there! Actually it’s cold, rainy and raw here, wish I was in all your pics this week! Even the rainy ones, it’s probably a lot warmer. 🙂
    Thanks for sharing your pictures!

  14. What a sweet little church. I love visiting the small older churches. You don’t see them much anymore.

I’m glad you received your little package safe and sound. Well except for the chocolate. What on earth could have happened to that? ;v)

  15. Great list! I always enjoy your lists with a beautiful photo for each favorite. The beach picture is lovely with the little waves, the mossy rocks, and the gulls.

I agree that the church is wonderful! You could go a long way without finding such an interesting little building.

HOpe your next week is as full!
