Finding Beauty ~ Look Up!

It’s time to join Claudia at Dippity Road for Finding Beauty.

My husband was out barbecuing on Tuesday night and called me out to our little front patio to check out the great sky! Little puffs of clouds covered the sky around our condominium complex. I love it when all I have to do is step out my front door and see something as delightful as this!

Photobucket is holding all my photos that I stored on their site from 2007-2015 hostage replacing them with ugly grey and black boxes and asking for a large ransom to retrieve them. It is a slow process to go through all my posts deleting the ugly boxes.

  1. Hi Ellen sweetie…
I wanted to make the rounds to Claudia’s other participants today. So I popped over to visit.

I absolutely love this photo you took. Oh my gosh it is so beautiful, mystical, serene and cottony white all rolled up into one. What an awesome job you did.

Thank you for sharing with me today. I love taking pictures and then going back later and looking at what I have captured.

    Country hugs sweetie…Sherry

  2. What a gorgeous sky! I saw the most beautiful sunrise the other day, and didn’t even think of grabbing my camera. It’s good that you did! ::Jill

  3. I used to lay in the big pasture beside our house as a child and try to figure out what the clouds looked like, now we can do it with pictures and let everyone share. Beautiful picture and yes they do look like little dabs of cotton candy scattered every where.

  4. i think they look like little marshmallows floating around in a pool of blue.
I love clouds, and you captured a beautiful evening. How was the BBQ? Yummy I bet. Our BBQ is frozen knee deep in the snow. lol
    Happy FFB
    Love Claudie

  5. The beauty and wonder of the ever-changing sky never fails to fascinate me… This photo is dazzling, Ellen! The small, puffy cloud formations almost look like magical bubbles! Beautiful… Happy Weekend, my friend :o) ((HUGS))

  6. I love looking at the sky, the enormity of it reminds me to make good use of the tiny part of our planet I inhabit.

I also love the fact that your husband was thoughtful enough to want to share such beauty with you, who in turn shared it with us. Thank you.

  7. Good Morning Ellen B.
How have you been these past few weeks? I feel like I have so much catching up to do ;-(.
It’s true that there’s a love letter written across the sky just for us…all we have to do is look up. What a way to greet the day.

I hope you have a blessed day!

    xoxo cori g.

  8. What an interesting sky! And you lucky girl barbequing outside! Someday we’ll have warm weather again. hehe ~Jeanne

  9. Oh my goodness.. I don’t think I’ve EVER seen the sky look like THIS! You did a wonderful job of getting a nice photo of it! It IS beautiful! Happy Friday to you, and hope you have a wonderful weekend! ~tina

  10. That’s an incredible shot! It really is beautiful, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen the sky look quite like that. What a wonderful catch!

  11. This is a prize-winner. Any idea of contests you can enter? What a thrill to see that. And what type of camera and lens did you use? Flash?

Can we know the region, roughly. I am always curious about clouds and sky, and how they differ on prairie, mountain down or up. (Must be a proper word for that which escapes me now).

    • I use a Pentax SLR and I very rarely rarely use a flash…My lens is a 18-250 mm. I have other lenses too but this is the one that’s on my camera most days. The region is Ventura County in Southern California in Camarillo. 8 miles from the Pacific coast. We are a coastal plain with lots of farming. We are just at the Northwestern end of the Santa Monica mountains…

  12. WOW … what a marvelous sky view đŸ˜‰
No rain here as of yet, but the skies LOOK like we’re going to get some wet stuph. I’ve found & shared BEAUTY today (just a bit late) at Small Reflections but seem to be logged into my WordPress ID because I’ve been visiting for Weekend Reflections & Pink Saturday this morning … such is life.
    Hugs and blessings,
