For Ruby Tuesday I’d like to share these antique Valentine Day Post Cards that Dear’s Great, great Aunt Emma received from 1909 to 1915. They all have 1 cent stamps on them.
To see more Ruby’s visit Mary at the Work of the Poet. Happy February Everyone!
Photobucket is holding all my photos that I stored on their site from 2007-2015 hostage replacing them with ugly grey and black boxes and asking for a large ransom to retrieve them. It is a slow process to go through all my posts deleting the ugly boxes.
Hi Ellen,
My birthday is Valentine’s Day so I collect old valentines and I have a couple of postcards. They are getting more expensive to buy that when I first started.
Love these!
OH! These are treasures! How nice that you still have them.
What pretty cards. I am sure you must love them. Great choice for RT.
Your Valentine’s Card are a unique treasure.
Original, old fashioned cards cards are both rare and truly romantic.
Lucky you.
How lovely…and how lovely that you still have them …and in such good condition!
These are beautiful, made in a time where the artistic details made all the difference when presented as a sentimental gift. I am partial to the romantic kitties. However, the last one – does this mean I am to buy diamonds and rings for Patti to present with my card??
So lovely I wonder what was written at the back I guess it would be words full of love. ^_^

What treasures these are! I love the one with the little Dutch children on it (I don’t know why I’ve always loved Dutch graphics). How wonderful that they were actually received by a family member. I really enjoyed seeing these. laurie
Oh Ellen, those are so pretty! I haven’t even gotten my post up yet. I will in the next couple of hours.
have a wonderful evening!
Ellen, they are bvery pretty cards. They are a nice treasure.
Love the one that says “ven vill you…” I know people that talk that way. Delightful! The cats hugging is cute, too.
Thank you for showing these delightful postcards!!!
I like the gondola all done up in flowers 🙂

What a treasure you own. Thanks for sharing these cards with us.
They seem to be in perfect condition! And now that you have scanned them, they’re even more preserved – well done!
They’re all so very charming….but it’s the 1 cent stamp that boggles my mind….and with that I’m sure the postal service is better back then…than today’s!!
My R T is what I’d like to think as the rose from Phantom of the Opera. HERE
What a GORGEOUS collection, Ellen! I do love old postcards, and especially the Valentine cards. I love anything old and nostalgic… Thanks for sharing this with us today! ((HUGS))

Aren’t the old postcards charming? “Ven vill you vhisper…” is just hilarious.
Also, pretty neat how you (below) worked the Wolf Moon and FarmersAlmanac.com data into a post!
I have seen images of old Valentine’s, but I’ve never known anyone who had actual cards which had been sent to a family member… And they appear to be in pristine condition too! What an absolute treasure these are♥
Sweet cards!
(Psst – Ellen – that little guy in the last card is a little risque – don’t you think?) 🙂
This is a WONDERful assortment! I can’t decide which one I love the most although. . .those cats dancing :O)
Thanks for sharing a part of your family and happy RT.
How pretty, Ellen – my favorite is the one that seems to have a “Dutch” saying …
