Ruby Tuesday ~ Pears

My pears are just beginning to grow and at this stage they are a nice ruby color. They will end up being green with some golden added in but for today they are just right for Ruby Tuesday.

Please visit Mary at Work of the Poet who is the hostess for this weekly meme.

For those of you who wonder why a meme for Tuesday starts on Monday, it’s because most of these memes are international and somewhere out there it’s Tuesday already!

  1. I haven’t yet seen the pear at the beginning of the process, just at the end at a market. The tiny blossoms don’t seem possible to mature into a delicious fruit. Interesting that the stalks under the blossom have the ruby shape of a pear, but merely inverted. Neat!

  2. How lovely – to begin as such a bright red. I used to have a pear tree, as a child – I didn’t pay much attention until they were ripe.

  3. I never realized they go from red to green, if anything I’d have guessed the opposite were true. Very cool.

I’ve entered a major international photo competition (details are on my blog) and would be most grateful if you’d click through and rate my portfolio (just click on the stars at the bottom (preferably the 5th star – “fantastic” – LOL), easy peasy, no registration or personal details needed). Thanks so much!

I didn’t know pears were RED first before they turned green…
