Snowflake Tablescape

Our daughter Katie turned 25 last week and on the morning of a little dinner party planned for her it snowed here! A theme is born…the snowflake table.

Her snowflake taco party was a success!

The cake was a spice cake with snow on top. Yes of course that’s snow in the form of powdered sugar! The only problem with snow on top of a birthday cake is when you go to blow out the candles you also get a snow flurry!

I’m linking to the lovely Susan at Between Naps on the Porch please click on over to see some very nice tables set for our enjoyment!

Plates: Nikko – Vintage Lace Platinum from Marshalls  ~ Snowflake tablecloth, centerpiece, napkins and napkin rings are from Martha Stewart K-Mart collection  ~ Candle holders are from a garage sale ~ Goblets, cut glass dessert plates, cake plate and scarf I used as a runner are from thrift stores ~

Photobucket replaced all my photos with ugly black and grey boxes and they are holding my photos hostage until I pay them lots of money. I’m slowly going through all my posts and trying to clean them up and replacing some photos. Such a bother.

  1. Beautiful table Ellen! We are so dry here this year….I’m in the mood to make some kind of snowflake wreath to hang beside our front door….GIVE ME SNOW! And I LOVED that Katie got to create a little snow storm when she blew out the candles….those are the great memories….too funny.

  2. I just love these. I keep saying you should open your own business doing this type of thing. You are spectacular. I have to say and don’t take this wrong but Tacos on that setting just seems like oil and water LOL I bet those were the prettiest tacos out 🙂 LOL

  3. Ellen, that’s beautiful! We are invited to our granddaughter’s One-derland Birthday soon and the theme will be snowflakes… but I don’t anticipate it looking as elegant as this one for a 25-year old.

  4. You certainly have beautiful things and a flair for putting it all together! I looked back at the post with all your table scapes from the year….gorgeous! I’m sure you are busy with wedding plans. Our daughter was married in Sept so I now from whence I speak! 🙂

  5. Snow flurry! LOL

The table looks great! Guess a lot of us were thinking snow and ice tonight!
Love your pretty snowflake napkin rings. Looks like above missed them! 🙂
    Happy 2011!

  6. Love, the silver napkin rings, your crystals & above all your cake stand.

  7. ellen,
Love your table with the snowflakes! Did I mention in my post that I LOVE SNOW? ? ? Your blue napkins and bordered tablecloth are such a nice backdrop for the all white accessories!

I smiled at the info about blowing out candles on a powedered sugar topped cake. Fun.

  9. Hello Ellen B!!
Your snowflake table is gorgeous!!! HAve you ever done a collage of all your tables you’ve set? I think that would be fun to see.

I hope you’re having a lovely day. Minus the toe incident of course ;-O.
