FFF ~ More From the Wedding…

It’s time to look back and share some favorites from our week with Susanne at Living to Tell the Story. I’m going back to Sunday March 11th. After helping Katie plan her wedding ceremony for almost a year it seems good to savor the actual event for longer than a week. I’ve been away from FFF for a few weeks because of the busyness of the final weeks leading up to the wedding. I’ve shared several posts and photos from the wedding already but just wanted to highlight some of my favorite things from the wedding.

1. It was great that both of Katie’s brothers were able to stand with Andrew along with Andrew’s best man at the wedding. Our son Daniel walked his grandmother and grandfather in to be seated.

2. Our son Josh walked me in…

3. This photo of Katie and her dad really catches their similar expression that makes me smile.

4. My brother Steve performed the wedding ceremony and did a fantastic job…

5. My father prayed a prayer of blessing over Katie and Andrew in Russian.

6. The Flower Girl and Ring Barrel my niece and grand nephew were charming. ( I’m cheating with 10 instead of 5 favorites)

7. The flowers and the table decor and the food were all fabulous!

8. The Cake Toppers that Katie painted…

9. Instead of throwing the bouquet and the garter Katie presented the bouquet to our good friend Lucy who is getting married in April and Andrew presented the garter to our nephew Levi who is getting married in May.

10. The Father Daughter Dance! Tear Jerker!

Thank you for putting up with my 10 favorites instead of 5 this week. I hope to get around soon and see what you all have been up to. We are having a nice dry day today that I hope lasts into the evening for the Sounders Soccer game.

  1. I am a candid photo lover. The smiles, that’s what I noticed. Daniel and your parents…(I don’t recognize his uniform)…joy. You and Josh…LOVE the expressions of your faces. And yes, Katie and Dad…so alike at that moment. Yet again, I was moved to tears by the face of your father in prayer…precious before our Father. How strange it must be to spend so much time in planning a wedding and suddenly it’s over. I would keep the pictures going for a long time, savoring. I would probably fill my house with the best candid shots as well. I am so visual…and I love to remember those moments when you feel you can “see” the soul of a person…really see them. LOVE the photos, thank you for sharing such a special event in your lives.

  2. I enjoy every one of the wedding posts you put up, Ellen! My favourite photos are the ones of your sons escorting you and their grandparents down the aisle – and the one of your Dear and Katie – that is beautiful! What a lovely day, in every way.

  3. I have been enjoying your wedding posts so much. I was able to share them with mom yesterday when they came by. She really enjoyed being able to see them. Love you tons.

  4. Thank you for sharing this beautiful event with us, Ellen. Katie’s dress is so graceful, and I love that she left her hair down for the wedding. God bless them as they begin this new journey of a life together.

  5. Love seeing all these photos. The presenting of the bouquet and garter is such a nice, genteel approach. Hope that it might take hold for many other weddings. Everyone looks so happy to be celebrating right along with your beautiful daughter and her Marine.

  6. I just LOVE Katie’s dress. The flare on that skirt is lovely and the beading down the front! It’s even pretty from the back. And the purple on the table — just love it.

This was just lovely to look at and read. Lots of love in this post!! I’d keep reliving it, too!

  7. I’ve enjoyed your wedding posts so much – love the photos of your father praying over the couple, the one of Katie and her dad, you and Josh. I love the purple flowers too, and really enjoyed the “ring barrel.” Don’t think I’ll ever forget that!

  8. It’s easy to put up’ with these ten faves! What a lovely time you had–loved the photos of your dad blessing Katie and Andrew!

  9. Thanks for sharing your pictures with us! The bride is beautiful and its so nice to get a glimpse of this special day in your life. My daughter is getting married in September so I’ll have pictures like this coming in a few months!

  10. oh congrats to your family on your daughter’s wedding!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE Her gown and her hair looked so pretty..so nice to see the hair down for once! and those are beautiful flowers!! thanks for sharing your special faves!!

  11. Love that picture of you and Josh. The look on your face is priceless! I’ve so enjoyed all these wedding pics over the week. I almost feel like I was there.

  12. Beautiful!
I have a friend whose son’s name was Jack. She picked “Hit the Road Jack” to dance the first dance with him! It was hysterical!

I picked Forever Young to dance with my son, love the words, very appropriate.

As the mom of the groom, I don’t remember what song my dil chose to dance with her dad. It was an Irish song though. 🙂
