Wild Ginger4Here we are in the middle of April and we’ll finally be celebrating Easter this coming weekend. I’m looking forward to our Good Friday service and Easter service. After services on Sunday some of our family will be coming over to celebrate an Easter meal here. We are having rack of lamb, rice, asparagus, salad and Italian Easter bread (Colomba) with strawberries for dessert. Our annual Kulich/Paska baking day is not happening this year so I was happy to find a source for the Colomba. It tastes and smells very similar to Kulich/Paska.

How are you celebrating Easter this year?

  1. Lovely images for note cards. Sunsets are always good and this one is lovely. I’ve always wanted to see the tulips and daffodil fields in the NW … some day! Happy Easter!

  2. Beautiful cards – each one perfect for a special occasion.
Easter is a time for old traditions – it’s interesting seeing your Russian food.
We will have lamb for our Easter meal too.
Wishing you a Happy Easter Ellen.

  3. Beautiful images for note cards. Easter will be a bit different for us this year. We’re going over to the mainland to celebrate my father’s 80th birthday on Saturday. Dinner will be on Saturday night.

  4. Most beautiful and elegant. I do love them all, but with time of year, and my love for the Lord I must choose the last and wonderful Easter Note Card. We will go to Church with our oldest daughter and her family, and then to a BBQ at her FIL’s who is too ill to go to the park as our annual Easter Picnic. God is good, so we will visit and pray with him and enjoy being with family.

  5. A beautiful selection for Easter. I like the Paksa cake. I am wondering why the daffodils are left to die off and not cut for market? It seems such a waste. Have a blessed Easter, Ellen.

  6. Pretty pictures! Sounds like a yummy menu. Haven’t planned mine yet…still waiting to see who will be here!

  7. Ellen…these are such lovely photos…so very peaceful…and they would make a beautiful set of note cards! I want to have a picnic on that table overlooking the water 🙂 May your Easter be blessed!

  8. Your notecards are lovely Ellen,I really enjoyed the closeup of the apple blossom, but my favorite is the one representing this most Holy time of year. Indeed He is risen!
    Blessings,
    Sue

  9. Every one of your note cards is very nice and the sweet cheese spread is decorated beautifully in Easter colours.
I am hosting Easter dinner on Sunday with ham, an assortment of vegetables and dessert has not been decided yet.
    Happy Easter

  10. Lovely spring-y images…just right for April note cards!
We are hosting Easter dinner, although I don’t do all the cooking. Can you believe we’re still tweaking the menu? Yikes!

  11. Beautiful….especially the sunset.
We always greet each other that way on Easter. “He is Risen!”, answered by “He is Risen, indeed!”

  12. Your photos are lovely, and so are your upcoming plans for rest of Holy Week.
My favorite is that sunset photo at the beginning, but that wonderful Russian cake looks pretty AND delicious.

  13. Lovely photos – the super close-up of the blossom is amazing! What intricacies! A lovely collection – want to walk through that daffodil field and recite that Wordsworth poem of the same name . . .
    Joy!
